Pastor
Pastor Dwayne Hooper serves as Senior Pastor of Largo Community Church. He joined the staff of Largo Community Church in 2001 in response to God’s call to ministry and faithfully served as Executive Minister for 23 years.
He was ordained by Pastor Morris, Pastor Emeritus of Largo Community Church, and has provided steady spiritual and administrative leadership to the church and its ministries.
Before entering full-time ministry, Pastor Hooper spent nearly 15 years in the mortgage banking and financial industry, including serving as a vice president with one of the largest title and settlement companies in the Baltimore–Washington area.
A former collegiate and professional athlete, Pastor Hooper attended Rutgers University on a full athletic scholarship, majoring in Business Economics. He later played running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers after being drafted by the USFL.
Pastor Hooper earned his Master of Theology from Regent University School of Divinity in 2008. He has also served as Executive Director of Largo Community Ministries (LCM). LCM provides affordable, Christ-centered Afterschool programming, advancing outreach and support within the Mitchellville community.
Pastor Hooper was married to his beloved wife, Patricia, for nearly 36 years
before she went home to be with the Lord on February 10, 2025.
Together, they were blessed with three children.

He enjoys training athletes, watching sports, reading, traveling, and spending time with his family. Pastor Hooper also serves as a Blue and Gold Officer for the U.S. Naval Academy, helping guide young people through the application process.
