Church History

Since our founding in 1972, when God placed a vision in the hearts of Dr. H. Jack (Pastor Emeritus) and Corin Morris to establish a Bible-teaching, Spirit-led church in the growing Largo area, God’s faithfulness has been evident at every step. From the very beginning, Pastor Morris envisioned a church without walls — a welcoming community where people from every background could come together in unity to worship freely, without denominational barriers. His heart was to create a place where the love of Christ transcended differences, where believers could grow together in faith, and where all would feel valued, seen, and loved.
What began as a small group of believers worshiping in the multipurpose room of Largo High School soon flourished into a vibrant congregation committed to the truth of God’s Word and the transforming power of His Spirit.
Through prayer, perseverance, and partnership, the Lord provided a permanent home — a beautiful 55-acre campus featuring a chapel, a 700-seat sanctuary, and a 40,000-square-foot Christian Education and Banquet Center.

For 53 years, Dr. Morris faithfully shepherded the Largo Community Church family, teaching God’s Word with conviction and leading with compassion and vision. His ministry touched countless lives and helped establish LCC as “the Church of Friendship and Joy, where Christ
is honored and people are loved.”
In 2025, Dr. Morris retired after more than five decades of faithful pastoral service.
The congregation joyfully affirmed Pastor Dwayne B. Hooper, Sr. as Senior Pastor —
a leader deeply committed to continuing LCC’s legacy of biblical teaching, discipleship,
and loving community.
Pastor Hooper carries a special passion for strengthening families — helping husbands, wives, parents, and children grow together in faith, love, and purpose. Under his leadership, LCC continues to build a multigenerational church that reflects the heart of God and the unity of His people. As we look to the future, we remain anchored in our founding vision — a church without walls, welcoming all people to experience the life-changing love of Jesus Christ.
Truly, God has done great things, and the best is yet to come.
